Ziff Davis buys IGN

j2 Global subsidiary Ziff Davis has acquired IGN , following months of rumors that News Corp, run by billionaire tyrant Rupert Murdoch, was looking to offload the site in a “restructuring” plan. IGN, of course, also owns AskMen and GameSpy, which shall also become property of Ziff.  “Joining Ziff Davis’s world-class digital media portfolio further strengthens IGN and AskMen’s growing presence in international markets,” claimed IGN in a statement to VG247

A website for the fifth Battlefield 3 expansion pack, End Game , has surfaced . While there’s not much to look at yet, DICE has been forthcoming with the highlights of this downloadable content: Four new maps designed for high speed combat and action Three new vehicles including the fast and agile dirt bikes New dropship provides support to ground troops with vehicle drop capabilities Return of the classic Capture The Flag game mode Really, they had me at “dirt bikes.” I can already picture the chaos that will surely unfold when armed soldiers are given speedy little vehicles and maps designed with that kind of gameplay in mind. Fox is developing a Battlefield: Bad Company TV show

An hourlong show following the foul-mouthed chaps from EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company is currently in the works at Fox. John Eisendrath of Alias fame is handling writer duties and will serve as executive producer alongside Doug Robinson from studio Happy Madison, and Patrick Bach and Patrick O’Brien from EA. The adaptation of Battlefield: Bad Company will follow four soldiers transitioning from military life to the private sector, Deadline reports.
