Here are the 2013 IGF Student Showcase winners

Now that we’ve seen the Main Competition finalists for the 2013 Independent Games Festival, it’s that time when we check in on what the students have been up to. Bungie to show off ‘Destiny’ at GDC 2013

Bungie is already teasing what they’ll talk about at the 2013 Game Developers Conference, set to take place in San Francisco in March. They’ll reveal what they’ve been working on for the “next ten years of great Bungie adventures” in an hour-long lecture, and they’re already promising to tease this world — codenamed ‘ Destiny ‘ — there.  GDC’s description of the session, titled   ‘Brave New World: New Bungie IP,’  says that  writer and design director Joe Staten and art director Christopher Barrett will be showing off concept art.  I’ll be one of those nerds that sits on the front row for this.

New event GDC Next set for Los Angeles November 2013

The organizers of Game Developers Conference have just announced their newest event, GDC Next. This event is the successor to GDC Online, which has always taken place in Austin. After it’s final show this October, GDC Next will take over, debuting in Los Angeles in November 2013.
