ilomilo plus finds a companion in Windows 8

Southend Interactive’s adorable bipartisan platformer/puzzle game, ilomilo , has made its way to Microsoft’s latest operating system, in the form of ilomilo plus . Available on the Windows 8-centric Windows Store for $6.99, plus is an enhanced port of the XBLA version of the game, with two new characters, additional creatures, new cubes, more chapters and support for keyboard, touchscreen and gamepad control schemes. That last bit means you’ll be able to play ilomilo plus on your new Surface for Windows RT and/or Surface Pro without shelling out $100-plus for one the available hardware keyboards

Darkstalkers Resurrection rising from its grave Mar. 14 in Japan

Darkstalkers Resurrection , the XBLA/PSN combo re-release of Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3 announced during NYCC last October, has had its Japanese release date changed from February 7 to March 14, according to Siliconera’s translation of the game’s Japanese website. The extended development time will be used to improve the netcode being stuffed into both games, as well as to ensure that the ports themselves are as arcade-perfect as possible.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon maneuvers onto PC in Europe Q1 2013

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is entering PC airspace early next year in Europe. The 2011 flight combat sim is firing down on retailers and on Steam and Games for Windows Marketplace in Q1 2013, priced at €29.99. Publisher Namco Bandai says the new port has PC-optimized graphics and controls, features “many” of the DLC goodies made available on PS3 and Xbox 360, and grants instant access to additional aircrafts, aircraft skins, skills, and maps.

Wii U ‘TVii’ service launching in Japan Dec. 8

Originally announced for the US and Canada, the Nintendo TVii service is already expanding to Japan (and it’s not technically available in the US and Canada yet). The service launches in Japan with the Wii U on December 8, and allows users to view a program guide and supplementary information about shows.

Strike Suit Zero engages PC on January 24

Born Ready Games’ space shooter Strike Suit Zero will work its Gundam style January 24 on PC. The game, which achieved its Kickstarter goal of $100K, concluded with $174,804 in contributions. “We are truly grateful for all the support we’ve received and above all else want to thank the community,” said Born Ready CEO James Brooksby.
