PSA: PSN maintenance tonight, should last two hours

Starting at 12am PT (3am ET), PSN will be down for around two hours in North America. It looks like Europe won’t be affected this time. The routine maintenance will go down basically the same as last week’s maintenance – if you signed into PSN in the last few days, you should have no problem accessing apps and playing games during the downtime; however, if you haven’t logged in recently, you’ll be shut out.

PS2 and PSP SOCOM servers shutting down at the end of August

Amazingly, Zipper Interactive servers for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs have continued to be active since the game’s original debut on the PlayStation 2 in 2002, meaning that crazy people dedicated fans with online adapter-equipped PS2s have been able to keep playing for nearly 10 years. Now though, since Zipper Interactive doesn’t exist anymore and everything, the servers for four PS2 SOCOM games and four PSP SOCOM titles will be taken offline at the end of August.
