PS4 Megaton: Tameem Antoniades loses the DmC Dante hair

While some argue the PlayStation 4 reveal event wasn’t as full of megaton announcements as it should have been, many glossed over one important and startling bit of news — Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades has hacked off the hair upon which Dante’s locks from DmC: Devil May Cry were based.  An effort to distance comparisons between Dante and he?

Gearbox ‘looking at’ an explanation for Colonial Marines

After breaking his radio silence this morning to respond to lots of praise for Aliens: Colonial Marines , Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford went on a bit of a blocking spree, cold-shouldering yours truly and a number of other people he claims offer nothing but “injury” in their criticism.  In a number of Tweets, Pitchford addressed a few questions on the game, and went so far as to confirm his studio is examining the possibility of maybe explaining exactly what went wrong with Aliens , and why the game looked nothing like the advertised product.

Randy Pitchford has only time for Colonial Marines praise

While the Internet at large still waits for Randy Pitchford — or anybody  – from Gearbox to come clean and explain what went wrong with Aliens: Colonial Marines , the studio CEO has decided his best course of action is to display contempt for those who felt cheated when they bought his stinker. A number of Twitter accounts, which were only set up recently and seem spectacularly preoccupied with Gearbox and Gearbox products, are lavishing Pitchford with praise for Colonial Marines , and they are now the only people worthy of his time.

David Jaffe launches glorious verbal attack on CNN anchor

Last week, we talked about how CNN anchor Erin Burnett desperately tried to link videogames to violent crime , attempting as she did to lead a psychologist into agreeing with her, and appearing flustered when he didn’t. She wants her viewers to believe games turn people into killers, and funnily enough, many of us found that intellectually offensive.  One such offended party happened to be David Jaffe, who addressed Erin Burnett via the magic of Twitlonger and launched into a massively wordy assault that dressed the journalist down something fierce.  “You, ma’am, are at best an idiot that CNN  should be ashamed to have as an anchor,” he began.

Borderlands 2′s Tiny Tina viewed as racist? [Update]

[ Update: Mike Sacco no longer works with Cryptozoic Entertainment , seemingly as a result of his discussion over Borderlands 2 . At first, Sacco stated, ” I’m gonna confirm two things: That people tried to pressure Cryptozoic into firing me, and that I no longer work at Cryptozoic.”  Despite wording that implied Sacco had been fired, Cryptozoic issued a statement to clarify Sacco was a contracted worker, and had been asked not to represent the company with his opinions. According to the company, Sacco then quit, an apparently unexpected move.

They Patrol Our Streets In Search For The Notorious Not-A-Game: It’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Game Police

Some people act as if gaming as we know it is in danger, and all of these new experimental titles— Proteus, Dear Esther , Dys4ria , Twine games, amongst others—are to blame. Usually, it’s what people designate as ‘art games.’ Sometimes, if you’re in the middle of a “but is it a game” discussion, you can almost imagine a PSA: “….perhaps you or a loved one has come into contact with these questionable titles…” More »
