Indie Royale bundles Mutant Storm 2, Puzzle Agent and more

The march of Indie Royale continues, with yet another bundle of indie games up for grabs. The latest bundle, entitled the July Jubilee , features Puzzle Agent , Mutant Storm Reloaded , Oniken , Unepic , Swift*Stitch and the Geneforge Saga , which includes all five Geneforge games. The minimum price, which goes up as more people buy the bundle, is hovering around $5 as of this writing.

Defense Grid 2 being funded by Kickstarter

Been hoping for a sequel to the indie tower defense darling Defense Grid ? Now is your chance to directly contribute to the possibility, as funding is now open for Defense Grid 2 on Kickstarter . “But wait,” you say, “wasn’t the original Defense Grid super popular?” According to developer Hidden Path’s CEO Jeff Pobst, Defense Grid: The Awakening was definitely a “success, even beyond what we had hoped.” That said, Pobst adds that a Defense Grid sequel is just “too small” for publishers to care, hence the Kickstarter

E3: Quantic Dream unveils Beyond: Two Souls

Dead Space dev: Gears of War has the worst writing

It’s very rare that you’ll get a representative from one studio slam another developer’s game, but Dead Space story producer Chuck Beaver has some words to say about Gears of War ‘s narrative efforts, and it ain’t pretty. In fact, he says it’s “literally the worst writing” in the industry. Ouch! To be fair, he said it didn’t matter to the game’s fans, because they don’t care about the game’s plot to begin with.  “It contains atrocious, offensive violations of story basics,” he said
